A position paper from the WG and GI Committee was published in JPGN, with recommendations for diagnosis and treatment: Papadopoulou, A., et al., Management guidelines of eosinophilic esophagitis in childhood. J Pediatr Gastroenterol Nutr, 2014. 58(1): p. 107-18).
The group is currently engaged in 2 patient registries: EuroPeeR, prospective, to obtain data on the new cases of the disease, diagnostic protocol and identified causes. New participants, among ESPGHAN members are welcome to join. Local ethical clearance is needed. If you are interested in joining this study please contact the Chair of the group (Jorge Amil Dias) via the ESPGHAN Office. Another registry, retrospective, is being done to evaluate what type of intervention has been performed for diagnosis and treatment in existing patients. If you are interested, please contact the coordinator of this study (Noam Zevit) via the ESPGHAN Office.
Other prospective studies are being planned and regularly discussed in the annual open sessions at ESPGHAN annual meeting. In 2015 there will be a Symposium on EoE in Amsterdam.
