During the Annual ESPGHAN meetings
At the 2015 annual meeting in Amsterdam the Young ESPGHAN Committee liaised with the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) to provide an interactive endoscopy learning area which was hugely successful so will be continued at the 2016 annual meeting in Athens.
At the annual meeting 2016 in Athens the Young ESPGHAN Committee is organizing the first Young ESPGHAN session with an invited speaker, the dutch behavioural biologist Patrick van Veen, who will speak on ‘Monkey See-Monkey Do - Improving Communication and Cooperation’, followed by a workshop and an informal get-together in the evening.Furthermore, there will be a Young ESPGHAN Lounge at the annual meeting in Athens where young delegates can get in touch with senior ESPGHAN members as well as interacting with their peers and committee members.Furthermore, at the annual meeting in Greece the results of the endoscopy and nutrition survey among trainees and young pediatric gastroenterologist-hepatologist will be presented.
In the last few years Young ESPGHAN has established LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/groups/Young-ESPGHAN-6953681) as an educational network for young pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition professionals and a lively twitter account (https://twitter.com/young_espghan) which is very popular during the annual conference.
This unique program allows new Young ESPGHAN members to be in close contact with a senior member who will mentor them and offer support during annual congress especially fostering exchange and international contacts. The mentorship program will be presented at the Young ESPGHAN Lounge in Athens.
Since 2014 all ESPGHAN trainee members are invited to take part in the e-learning facility (http://www.espghan.org/education/e-learning/courses-and-webcasts/) in cooperation with United European Gastroenterology. There is also a possibility to participate in the CME program from the Northamerican Pediatric IBD Foundation (http://ibd.realcme.com/cms/).

C. Training syllabus
ESPGHAN has updated the Pediatric Gastroenterology training syllabus. The syllabus has been distributed to all national societies. The aim of the syllabus is to harmonize Pediatric Gastroenterology training within the different European countries and it is useful to refer to (http://www.espghan.org/education/syllabus/).
