The need was detected to offer a course on EBM in general, and evidence-based guideline development in particular for council and committee chairs of ESPGHAN, and potentially for a larger ESPGHAN public.

Course Director

Joan Vlayen

Joan Vlayen is a physician (1997, University of Leuven) with a specialization in endocrinology (2003) and a certificate of hospital management.

Since 2006 he has been working as an expert at the Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre (KCE)

where he is involved in several HTA and GCP projects and provides methodological support for literature reviews.

In the past, he has worked for the Belgian Centre for Evidence Based Medicine (CEBAM). He was also member of the GIN and ADAPTE working groups.
