During the school, lectures and presentations will be given by expert paediatric hepatologists from various European centres. To cover all important topics, other experts (pathologist, radiologist, paediatric surgeon) are also invited to give talks. The limited number of participants will give ample opportunities for discussion and networking between participants and faculty members.
Educational goals
to provide an updated knowledge on the pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the most common liver diseases in children
to provide well-founded advice for the management of these children and referral criteria
Educational methods
1/ topics presented by expert paediatric hepatologists from various European centres, leaving enough time for discussion with maximum interactivity including voting system
2/ case reports previously submitted by participants, and discussed together
3/ split groups workshops
After the summer school, the participants should
1/ have a complete overview of paediatric hepatology
2/ have a current practical knowledge about the approach to children with liver diseases
3/ be able to discuss scientific literature on paediatric hepatology
