Nutrition Summer School

General Information

General Information

The summer school is aimed at young researchers, clinicians and other health care professionals interested in developing an academic career in paediatric nutrition.
The nutritional health of children in Europe and across the world is one of the most important concerns. There is an urgent need to develop a platform for the translational medicine from fundamental to clinical research in the field of nutrition in order to provide optimal nutritional advice and care to infants, children and adolescents.

The ESPGHAN Nutrition Summer School is designed to
1) offer a comprehensive curriculum on paediatric nutritional research, focusing on current ‘hot topics’
2) serve as an introduction to evidence-based medicine in nutrition
3) provide evidence-based advice on nutrition for infants, children and adolescents in health and illness
4) inform about how to prevent, diagnose and manage nutritional diseases in childhood
5) offer a unique platform for learning and exchange
6) give delegates the opportunity to present their research and receive feedback from the expert faculty form various European centres, as well as from participants from around the world.

The course language is English.

COVID-19 has proven challenging in the organisation of onsite courses in the past year. ESPGHAN remains dedicated to the realisation of our educational programme without compromising the health of our delegates.
We are carefully monitoring the developments and follow the recommendations and information provided by the national Health Authorities, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). Preparations for an onsite course are proceeding as planned at this point. Applicants will be updated on any potential changes to the format of the school.
As the number of participants is a critical part in the planning and realisation of our schools, we encourage all interested HCPs to apply. If the situation does not allow for the responsible realisation of onsite participation, your application will be valid for virtual participation. Registration fees will be reimbursed or adapted accordingly.
For more information please contact the ESPGHAN Office.
