General Information

Juvenile sclerosing cholangitis is a rare condition and its diagnosis and management a challenge for health professionals. The aim of the meeting is to discuss the various aspects of the condition including genetics and association with other systemic disease as well as the management including medical, interventional, and liver transplantation. Although there are similarities with the adult form of the disease, the meeting will be a platform to discuss the differences between the two forms in more detail as well as the association with autoimmune liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease. Finally, we would like to focus on the multidisciplinary care of children and young people with sclerosing cholangitis including adherence, quality of life including a patient’s perspective. The meeting will be an opportunity for both paediatric and adult health professionals to share their experience and think about future and novel ways of looking after patients with this challenging condition.
