General Information
This is the first Motility Summer School offered by ESPGHAN.
Gastrointestinal motility disorders and investigations are rarely a part of paediatric GI training and some investigations and equipment is available only in few centres worldwide.
We have previously organized a hands-on course for motility investigations, which has received very good opinions and enjoyed a great interest. We feel that there is a strong need to share knowledge and experience in this area of paediatric gastroenterology.
GI motility is an ever developing area for diagnostics and research, with brand new tools becoming available for patients and professionals just in the last few years - the cine MRI to assess the upper and lower intestine motility or the Swallow Gateway - an online application for analysis of high resolution manometry to diagnose dysphagia, or the EndoFLIP for oesophageal disorders, to mention just a few as an example.
This school is supported by the ESPGHAN Education Partner Programme.
Our team at the Great Ormond Street Hospital, in the division of Neurogastroenterology and Motility, together with our expert colleagues from other centres worldwide, have prepared a bespoke program, incorporating the most up to date knowledge about the diverse motility investigations, including the practical aspects of the most common and available studies for upper and lower gastrointestinal motility assessment.
