General Information

This study day will equip independent paediatric colonoscopists involved in teaching and training with the core skills required to deliver high quality colonoscopy training. The core principles learnt can be applied to improve teaching of other endoscopy skills.
This will be a very interactive day with small group discussions and model based learning.

The learning objectives of this course are:

(1) Understand the need to deconstruct endoscopy skills to support acquisition and learning
(2) Understand the concept and need for conscious competence in both endoscopy skill and the teaching of it
(3) Practice practical teaching skills and consider how you may use these approaches in your own teaching
(4) Understand the need for set, dialogue and closure within a teaching episode
(5) Develop a framework for teaching endoscopy skills including establishing an educational contract and setting SMART objectives
(6) Understand the importance of well-defined clear instructions in endoscopy training and the benefits of performance enhancing feedback

The course language is English.

Please do not make travel arrangements before receipt of a formal confirmation of acceptance from the ESPGHAN Office. The number of participants is limited and a selection will be made by the school organisers after the deadline. Priority will be given to ESPGHAN Members.
ESPGHAN Members may attend two courses per year and non-members may attend one course before becoming members of the society. 

Delegates are expected to attend the full course and arrange their travel according to the course schedule.
