General Information

The 2023 ESPGHAN Hepatology Summer School is aimed at young and experienced doctors working in clinical pediatric hepatology. The Hepatology Summer School is designed to:

  • providing knowledge and practical discussion in an interactive environment
  • offer unique opportunities to learn from and interact with an expert faculty from various European centres, as well as participants from around the world
  • give delegates the opportunity to present their work and/or research and receive feedback from the faculty.

After the Summer School, participants will have improved their approach and management of young children with liver disease.

The course language is English.
This school is supported by the ESPGHAN Education Partner Programme.

Session 7. Working in groups

14.30-16.00        Candidates split into working groups. Facilitators briefly present a single case and discuss it with candidates (pathologist and radiologist joining the discussion)

16.30-18.00         Candidates collects input from the faculty and draft a case presentation highlighting clinical aspects, differential diagnosis, hot research topics, proposal for a collaborative study to be presented on Saturday morning

Non-Members: EUR 250.00

If you experience any issues with the tool, please contact us at office@espghanCandidates will be selected based on a motivation letter and CV. Selected delagtes will later be asked to submit an abstract that may be selected for presentation during the course. Abstracts may have been submitted to other public meetings previously.

Please do not make travel arrangements before receipt of a formal confirmation of acceptance from the ESPGHAN Office. The number of participants is limited and a selection will be made by the school organisers after the deadline. Priority will be given to ESPGHAN Members.
ESPGHAN Members may attend two courses per year and non-members may attend one course before becoming members of the society.

  • Accommodation up to 3 nights (organised by ESPGHAN)
  • Pre-arranged dinners and social programme  
  • Catering throughout the course

This school is planned for onsite participation only. We will be carefully monitoring the situation in Italy and Europe as well as national COVID-19 regulations. ESPGHAN reserves the right to postpone/cancel the course or change its current format if deemed necessary to protect the health of our delegates, faculty and staff.
