The summer school is aimed at young researchers and clinicians interested in developing an academic career in paediatric nutrition.
The nutritional health of children in Europe and across the world is one of the most important health concerns. ESPGHAN and its Nutrition Committee represent the most important professional network to learn, train and advance in providing nutrition support to children with nutrition-related problems.

The ESPGHAN Nutrition Summer School is designed to: 

  • Provide evidence-based advice on nutrition for the prevention, diagnosis, and management of paediatric nutrition-related diseases 
  • Serve as an introduction to evidence-based medicine in the field of nutrition
  • To offer a focus on current ‘hot topics’ 
  • To boost the international network possibilities of young scientists aiming to work on paediatric nutrition

The course language is English.

Application & Fees

Application Deadline: March 10 2024

Participation fee: EUR 175.00
The participation fee is understood as a small contribution to the overall course program and cannot be lowered for delgates not requiring accommodation.

Application process: The number of participants is limited and a delegates will be selected by the local organisers after the deadline. Applicants will be selected upon their CV, support letter of an ESPGHAN Member and a motivation letter. Priority will be given to ESPGHAN Members. ESPGHAN Members may attend two courses per year and non-members may attend one course before becoming members of the society.

Please do not make travel arrangements before receipt of a formal confirmation of acceptance from the ESPGHAN Office. 

Delegates are expected to attend the course from start to finish with travel reimbursment contingent on full participation. Participants arriving late/departing early will not be able to claim travel costs.

ESPGHAN will arrange and cover the following for registered delegates:
