This webinar is part of the join ERNICA-EUPSA-ESPGHAN Series.
Malnutrition is common among children with rare inherited and congenital gastrointestinal disorders and is linked to poorer clinical outcomes. This joint webinar by ERNICA, EUPSA, and ESPGHAN will focus on the application of nutritional screening tools in paediatric surgical settings. The session will provide an overview of how preoperative nutritional status influences surgical outcomes, review existing paediatric nutritional screening tools, and offer insights into the development of a new disease-specific tool for children with congenital intestinal abnormalities. The webinar will conclude with an audience Q&A and will be hosted by Prof. Simon Eaton (Professor of Paediatric Surgery, Nutrition and Metabolism, UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health) and Dr. Lorenzo Norsa (Ospedale dei Bambini Vittore Buzzi).
