Dr Elin Hård af Segerstad, PhD, RD, specialises in childhood nutrition and coeliac disease, with a PhD from Lund University on early-life diet and coeliac risk.

Elin leads Sweden’s first dietitian-led paediatric coeliac clinic, contributes to international studies including TEDDY, PreCiSe, GraIn, and HEDIMED, and serves as Chair of the ESPGHAN Allied Health Professionals Committee

Moriam works in the NHS as a leading specialist in neonatal nutrition. With over 20 years of experience, she is passionate about improving the nutritional care of babies and children. Her interests include parenteral nutrition, neonatal surgery, supporting workforce development, promoting equity in care, and fostering collaboration across professional groups.

Paediatric Gastroenterology Dietitian

Lucy is a Specialist Paediatric Dietitian with over 10 years’ NHS experience. She leads the neurogastroenterology and complex gastrointestinal food allergy services, with a particular focus on eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders.

Founder of ‘The Happy Tummy Dietitian’, Lucy is also an active researcher and advocate for collaboration among paediatric dietitians across Europe.

Tena’s main focus is on gastroenterology patients, primarily children with short bowel syndrome on parenteral nutrition, paediatric patients on enteral nutrition, and patients with feeding difficulties.

She is deeply involved in clinical research, and her passion lies in teaching. She lectures at the University of Zagreb and is the co-editor and co-author of the university textbooks "Nutrition in General and Clinical Paediatrics and Obesity", and has contributed to several other academic publications and research projects.

Emma works in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, as a paediatric dietitian. She specialises in parenteral nutrition for children with intestinal failure and nutritional care for patients in the paediatric intensive care unit.
Emma is also a member of a national working group focused on nutritional assessment, including body composition and resting energy expenditure. In addition, she is actively involved in research on children with intestinal failure

Agata specialises in food allergy, childhood nutrition, and functional abdominal pain disorders. She is also an expert in the low-FODMAP diet.

She is an active researcher with over 20 publications in the field of paediatrics, with a PhD on cow’s milk protein allergy in children. She is passionate about clinical research methodology and actively supports young researchers and medical students in undertaking their first scientific projects.

Bethany is a Registered Children’s Nurse with over 13 years’ experience in paediatric hepatology. As the first Paediatric Liver Advanced Nurse Practitioner at King’s College Hospital, she leads care for children with complex liver disease and co-runs the Wilson Disease Clinic.

With a Master’s in Paediatric Advanced Clinical Practice focused on non-invasive markers of portal hypertension, Bethany is active in research, represents AHPs on the Hepatology Committee, and champions the Advanced Nurse Practitioner role across Europe.

Gastroenterology Representative

Sara Sila, PhD, specialises in paediatric nutritional care for children with gastrointestinal conditions. Her PhD in Nutrition Science explored the relationship between nutrition and gut microbiota in PIBD.

She has authored over 30 peer-reviewed papers and contributes to national and international research projects. Sara also served as Secretary of the Croatian Academic Centre for Applied Nutritional Science, supporting public health initiatives and organising the International Congress of Nutritionists in Zagreb

Meyer Children’s Hospital of Florence

Elena has been a member of the ESPGHAN AHP committee since 2020. She has been a clinical Paediatric Dietitian at the Meyer Children’s Hospital of Florence for more than 15 years. Her main fields of work are IBD, Intestinal failure, children with neurological impairment and enteral nutrition. She is actively involved in the Italian Society of Pediatric Nutrition, Gastroenterology and Hepatology and in research. She is also an expert in managing acute severe malnutrition in low-income countries, based on her experience in sub-Saharan Africa.

Description:  The Special Interest Group for Complex Feeding and Eating (SIG‑EAT) brings together members of ESPGHAN who have a specialist interest in complex feeding and paediatric eating difficulties. This group focuses on feeding-related presentations and is not intended to address other eating disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa. Complex feeding and eating difficulties are increasingly recognised as significant contributors to impaired growth, nutrition, development, and quality of life in infants, children, and adolescents. Consistent with other ESPGHAN SIGs, SIG‑EAT aims to support collaborative research, clinical practice, education, and advocacy in this field.
