The Special Interest Group on Childhood Obesity and the Local Organising Committee are delighted to announce the 2nd Childhood Obesity Masterclass from 5th to 7th November 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal. The Childhood Obesity Masterclass is a course addressing key issues in research, clinical treatment and public health related aspects of Childhood Obesity. The course will cover topics related to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and pathophysiology, with practical workshops and clinical cases.
Teaching will be interactive and delivered by European experts, and included both lectures and practical training.

The course language is English.

This school is supported by the ESPGHAN Education Partner Programme.

Application & Fees

Application Deadline: August 15, 2025

ESPGHAN Members: EUR 120.00
Non-Members: EUR 150.00

The participation fee is understood as a small contribution to the overall course program and cannot be lowered for delgates not requiring accommodation or dinners.

Application process: The number of participants is limited and a delegates will be selected by the local organisers after the deadline. Applicants will be selected based on CV, support letter of an ESPGHAN Member in good standing (any type), a motivation letter. Submission of an abstract of a research study to b presented int he course is optional. Priority will be given to ESPGHAN Members. ESPGHAN Members may attend two courses per year and non-members may attend one course before becoming members of the society.

Please do not make travel arrangements before receipt of a formal confirmation of acceptance from the ESPGHAN Office. 

Delegates are expected to attend the course from start to finish with travel reimbursment contingent on full participation. Participants arriving late/departing early will not be able to claim travel costs.
