Infant Feeding Campaign

Helping Families Build Healthy Feeding Habits in the First Year of Life

Why This Campaign Matters

The first year of life is a critical window for growth, brain development, and the establishment of lifelong eating behaviours. Yet across Europe and globally, parents and healthcare professionals continue to face contradictory advice, cultural barriers, gaps in guidance, and inconsistent support during the complementary feeding (CF) period.

To address these challenges, ESPGHAN has launched a comprehensive Infant Feeding Campaign to empower healthcare professionals (HCPs) and support parents and carers with clear, evidence-based, culturally adaptable guidance.

Our Goal

To promote healthy, safe, responsive, and context-appropriate complementary feeding practices that reflect the diversity of families’ environments, cultures, and resources - while ensuring infants have the best possible start to life.

Campaign Resources

All resources in this campaign have been co-developed with paediatric nutrition experts, registered dietitians, paediatric allergists, and the wider ESPGHAN Committee networks. They are designed to support both clinical practice and family education, and to be easily adapted across countries and contexts.
