2026 Call for Mentors

As part of the Young ESPGHAN initiative, we are excited to announce the ESPGHAN Mentorship Program for 2026, and we warmly invite you to join as a mentor.

Background
The ESPGHAN Mentorship Program was launched in 2017 with the aim of fostering connections between Young ESPGHAN members and more senior colleagues. The goal is to provide pastoral support, guidance in career development, and to encourage active involvement of young members in ESPGHAN activities.

What Would We Like From You?
We would be delighted if you could participate in the program as a mentor.

What Does It Involve?

• Participation in a 3-hour online mentoring workshop in April 2026, facilitated by Matt Driver (Matt Driver Consulting) an experienced coaching and mentoring trainer. In this interactive workshop, both mentors and mentees will explore and practice good (and less effective) mentoring styles.
• A meet-up with your mentee at the Annual Meeting in Lille on Wednesday, June 24th at 12 pm.
• A minimum of three virtual meetings with your mentee throughout the year following the Lille meeting, prompted by the Young ESPGHAN Committee.

We truly hope you will support this initiative by becoming a mentor and contributing to the growth and development of our young members.

General Information

The ESPGHAN Mentorship Programme began in 2017 with the aim to create a forum for Young ESPGHAN members to meet and receive pastoral support from more senior ESPGHAN members. This year we are continuing with this initiative in a virtual programme so that we can reach out to as many of you as possible!

What can you expect?

• We will hold a half day, online workshop on (date and time to be confirmed). In this workshop you will learn and practice good (as well as bad) mentoring styles. You will be encouraged to practice what you have learnt in your professional life.
• We will arrange a face-to-face meeting with your mentor at the ESPGHAN Annual Meeting (date and time to be confirmed)
• We will follow up and prompt you to arrange three, virtual meetings with your mentor after Milan. We will help you identify topics that you may wish to explore with your mentor.
• Please note that the attendance of the online workshop and the ESPGHAN Annual Meeting is mandatory to enter the programme.

Application & Fees

This programme is free of charge. However, travel to the meeting is not financially supported by ESPGHAN.

• To help build a professional network of young and senior members within the society.
• To provide insight to the Young ESPGHAN member on the functioning of the society and possibilities within ESGPHAN.

Who can apply?

Any Young ESPGHAN member who has not previously participated in the ESPGHAN Mentorship Programme.

How to apply

if you would like to become a mentee, we invite you to submit your CV and motivation letter stating your intention to attend the above two key days.
