Baltic region is a part of Eastern Europe centred in Latvia, and has a wide number of scattered Paediatricians, Paediatric Gastroenterologists and Nutritionists. The last event of paediatric gastroenterology in Latvia occurred more than 10 years ago. Riga is an accessible town and Baltic countries are very close to Poland, to Baltic Sea which have proximity to Finland and Sweden. Riga is a city easy to reach from central eastern European countries and it would be easy for them to attend this course. Network from all corners of Europe is expected. 

We are delighted to invite you to Latvia to attend the 2024 ESPGHAN Eastern European Summer School on Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.

We are expecting fascinating lecturers from ESPGHAN members to cover interesting updates on functional GI disorders, updated guidelines and knowledge on food allergy, IBD and eosinophilic disorders, but also liver diseases and pediatric nutrition.This course aims to expand knowledge and bring network to all clinicians with a strong interest in these fascinating Paediatric Specialties.

The meeting is organized for 45 medical professionals – paediatric gastroenterologists, paediatricians with interest in paediatric gastroenterology and nutritionists.

The program includes functional gastrointestinal disorders, celiac disease, food allergy, liver failure, healthy nutrition in the preterm, parenteral nutrition, several IBD topics and endoscopy cases. The audience will have the chance to expand their expertise on these disorders and to meet and network with senior faculty members and to set up research collaboration in Europe.

This course is part of the ESPGHAN Education Partner Programme.

Please do not make travel arrangements before receipt of a formal confirmation of acceptance from the ESPGHAN Office. The number of participants is limited and a selection will be made by the school organisers after the deadline. Priority will be given to ESPGHAN Members.

ESPGHAN Members may attend two courses per year and non-members may attend one course before becoming members of the society. 

Delegates are expected to attend the full course and arrange their travel according to the course schedule. 

The course language is English.
